In this blog post I will be revising my past blog which you can visit here at Blog Post #5. It is a scene where I describe how my usual shifts go at my job at staples. It involves annoyingly obnoxious customers and a lot of heavy lifting.
As I walk into work I see Kathy in her white long sleeve shirt as usual ringing customers out and Dave going as slow as ever to make new tags for old product that is going on the clearance rack. After I clock myself in and grab an old, beat up radio I head to the back to put my personal belongings away. On my way to the back I cut through our furniture pad where I saw Darlene standing there, angry as ever. Our entire store in undergoing remodeling at the moment, which includes new carpeting. With that being said, our furniture pas is a complete mess and there is product scattered everywhere. She was trying to assist a couple in getting a desk but they seemed to be giving her problems. As I was approaching the situation, I saw Darlene get angrier by the second, it looked like her head was going to explode. This was on a Monday which meant load just came in and our warehouse was looking packed as ever. Hundreds of boxes stacked on top of each other stood along the left wall and on the opposite side was paper spilling everywhere. Our store only had one left of that specific desk the couple was looking for which meant it was going to be extremely hard find, so I headed to the warehouse with Darlene to help her find this desk. After moving 2 pallets that was stacked to the ceiling with product and was as heavy as ever, we made our way to the corner where we keep all of our desks. We had to move three other desks out of the way that was just as heavy as the pallets and go under our bright red metal shelves to finally get to the back where we found that one specific desk for this couple. I ran over and grabbed an old, rusty u-boat to put the desk on so we could wheel it out to the customers. After five minutes of struggling and sweating, Darlene and I finally picked up the desk and moved in onto the u-boat. As soon as I was about to wheel the desk out of the warehouse and upfront so Kathy could ring them out, Dave goes over the radio and says “Hey guys never mind on that desk, they changed their minds. They are getting a chair instead”. In that moment, I could not stop laughing. I just sat for a moment to catch my breath before putting everything back the way it was. But Darlene? She threw the desk off the u-boat throwing her legs in the air, kicking and screaming. Which initially was the first thing I wanted to do, but I kept myself together unlike her. In this blog post I am going to rewrite The Yellow Wall-Paper (Charlotte Perkins Stetson), so instead of her secretly writing behind her husbands back and destroying the wallpaper, she will get caught writing in the beginning which will change everything. I also will be writing about a scene where someone in my life made a decision that had a negative impact in my life.
John went off to work like usual, leaving me alone with just my thoughts. John doesn’t believe there is quite anything wrong with me. He says it is all in my head, and I must rest to get better but oh am I tired of resting. We moved to this rustic house for a while so our house can finish being redone and it is just horrible. There is nothing for me do, I can only stay upstairs and focus on my “rest” but all I can truly think about is how horrid this yellow wallpaper is in our nursery. It is a faded, unclean yellow with patterns that are curve shaped going insane. There is John now, I must go. He hates having me write a word. I believe John is starting to get suspicious of you. He caught a glimpse of me hiding you away and but he seemed to have brushed it off, almost like he was even too tired to comment on you. Either way, all is good now. I did mention to him about having me stay downstairs so I don’t have to look at that god awful wallpaper anymore but John was not having it, like I said he just seemed too tired for anything. Oh I hope my John is okay! Nevertheless, I must go downstairs and get away from this outrageous wallpaper! I can not stop looking at it, trying to study how--- Oh diary how i've missed you so. I apologize for cutting out so rudely like that a couple weeks ago, John walked right in as I was writing! He hasn’t been tired at all actually, just the opposite! That was an act this whole time. He says he knew I was up to no good and he needed to get to the bottom of it. As he snuck upstairs and into our room where I was writing, he swung the door open, screaming at me. “I knew this is what you were doing! What did I tell you about writing? You need to get better and this is not going to help you one bit! Give me that now!” but I wouldn’t dare do that. What so he can read what I have been journaling? Or worse, throw you away? I refused! John has now locked in my room for good, not only was I unable to explore the whole house but now I can’t even see all of upstairs. Just my big, empty room with huge windows teasing me. John has also ordered that starting tomorrow our nanny, Jennie, will have to stay “close” to me while I am in here to make sure I am behaving well. So this is goodbye, for awhile at least.
